Boss Brace is the Old Gold's hero

PLAYER-manager Deryn Brace was the hero as Carmarthen triumphed 4-1 in a Welsh Cup quarter-final penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 extra-time draw at home to Port Talbot.
Defender Brace was forced to take the gloves in the 74th-minute to replace the injured Neil Thomas and saved two spot-kicks in a dramatic finale at Richmond Park.
Paul Fowler had kept the Old Gold in the cup with a 118th-minute equaliser to a Martin Rose goal for the Steelmen.
Brace then saved penalties from Martin Rose and Scott Barrow in the shoot-out.
Both sides finished with 10-men, the visitors losing Gareth Phillips to a 33rd-minute red card, with home striker Craig Hughes following on 55 minutes.
The battle of the minnows at Mendalgief Road went the way of Bridgend Town, who triumphed 1-0 to deny Newport YMCA a second successive semi-final appearance.
Former Cwmbran Llanelli and Barry Town midfielder Raith Plant got the all-important goal.
