Five-goal City storm into the semis
Saturday 28 February 2009
HOLDERS Bangor City marched into the last four with a 5-0 demolition of Airbus UK Broughton at a heavily-policed Airfield.
In a scoreless first-half, the visitors had shown the most attacking threat and made their superiority count with a two goal salvo immediately after the interval.
Chris Seargeant got the final touch to a right-wing corner and Les Davies quickly added the second despite looking suspicously offside.
More goals quickly followed from Peter Hoy, Sion Edwards and Davies again to crush the Wingmakers' hopes of a history-making spot in the semi-finals.
Aberystwyth also stormed into the next stage with a comfortable 5-1 home win over Prestatyn Town.
The visitors scored first through Steve Hoult, but Geoff Kellaway and Chris Venables gave Aber a half-time lead, before Graham Evans settled matters with a second-half hat-trick.
