| Too early to write Glan obituary |

GLANTRAETH secretary Stan Strickland says it is too early to write the club's obituary, despite their resignation from the CYmru Alliance."We had very little choice really," he says. "Last weekend's friendly with Beaumaris proved to the club committee that we were in no position to start the season and the decision to resign was unanimous. "We attach no blame to manager Mike Bennett who was left with an almost impossible task, being appointed only six weeks before the start of the season and having to build a side virtually from scratch. "Although disappointed we are not despondent. We will take a year out, carry on with ground development and fundraising and recommence playing football for 2010-11 season, albeit in a lower league. "The club's three number Lotto will continue as normal and the 12-month break will give us the ideal opportunity to upgrade the pitch at Cae Trefdraeth and with that in mind we are looking for a groundsman with the time and expertise to take charge of pitch improvements." |
