LLANGEFNI Town's bid for a return to the Welsh Premier under new manager Lee Dixon is gathering momentum as the Cymru Alliance pacesetters maintained a 100% record with a 5-1 victory at home to Ruthin Town.It was an unhappy return Talwrn Road for former Cefni manager Adie Jones, with Ywain Gwynedd scoring after just 25 seconds. Darren Thomas with a brace, Geraint Mitchell and John Peris Jones heaped further misery on the previously-unbeaten visitors. Penrhyncoch are the surprise package, making it nine points from their first three games with a 1-0 win at Llanfairpwll thanks to an 80th-minute goal from Josh Shaw, the visitors also missing a penalty. But Llangollen tasted their first Alliance defeat, going down 3-0 at Llandudno's Maesdu Park to a seventh-minute Lee Thomas penalty and further goals from Paul Roberts and Toby Jones. Relegated Caernarfon Town had striker Paul Addo (pictured) red-carded in a 1-0 defeat to Lex XI at Stansty Park. |
