First Alliance win for Buckley
Wednesday 26 August 2009
Buckley v Berriew BUCKLEY Town gained their first Cymru Alliance win of the season, beating newly-promoted Berriew 3-0 at Globe Way on Tuesday night.
Former Airbus duo Paul Connelly and Phil Molyneux were both on target, either side of a goal from Mark Orme, while Jason Leonard had a penalty saved by Berriew keeper Lee Andrew.
Llangollen's promising start has been derailed twice on the road as they crashed 6-2 at new joint-leaders Mold Alexandra.
Dave Pitson notched a brace, including one from the penalty spot, with Darren Pritchard also converting a spot kick.
Shaun Beck's late goal gave Flint Town United a 1-0 home win over Ruthin Town, while Gresford went down 4-2 at home to local rivals Lex XI after leading two-nil.
Quickfire goals from Mike and Craig Griffiths levelled things up for the Lawmen and, after home keeper Gareth Rowland had been red-carded, Sean Dodd scored twice from the spot inside three minutes late-on to seal the victory.
