| Wednesday 16 September 2009 |
VASTLY-experienced former Welsh Premier striker Mark Williams has been confirmed as the new manager of Holyhead Hotspur following the recent resignation of Campbell Harrison.Williams scored 87 goals from 280 top flight appearances for Newtown, Porthmadog and Caersws, starting his domestic league career in 1993/4 after professional experience at Shrewsbury Town. Hotspur were shocked by the surprise resignation of Harrison after three years at the helm. "Campbell has been a breath of fresh air to everyone at this club, which has grown immensely under his leadership," said spokesperson Gareth Davies. "He leaves a big void at the club and everyone will miss his commitment, coaching skills and professionalism." Harrison said: "I felt I had taken the club as far as I could and I believe it is in Holyhead Hotspur’s best interests that someone else has an opportunity to take the club to the next level." |
