NEWLY-promoted Bethesda shocked Cymru Alliance leaders Llangefni Town who lost their unbeaten record on Wednesday night. A 67th-minute goal from Gareth Jones in a 1-0 win secured all three points for the visitors, allowing Penrhyncoch to join Cefni at the top after their 1-0 home win over Llangollen Town. Former Aberystwyth midfielder Chris Wilkins got the goal for the hosts in the 61st-minute. Flint Town remain third after a 2-1 home win over Gresford Athletic with goals from Stuart Carroll and the prolific Sean Beck, while Llandudno stayed hot on the heels of the top three after a 1-0 away win at Holyhead, Lee Thomas scoring the goal. In the night's other game, Caernarfon and Llanfairpwll shared four goals in a nine-minute spell either side of half-time at The Oval. Kelvin Frazer's opener for 'Pwll was immediately cancelled-out by Mark Roberts and, when Richie Owen restored the advantage on 50 minutes, John Rowley responded three minutes later. |
