| Buckley swoop for midfielder Quirk |
| Monday 05 October 2009 |
INFLUENTIAL midfielder Colin Quirk has signed for Cymru Alliance hopefuls Buckley Town, who are hoping to receive international clearance for the 24-year-old to make his debut in Friday night's important clash away to Llangefni Town.Quirk, who made five (+15) appearances during brief spells in the Welsh Premier with Airbus, Caernarfon and Gap Connah's Quay, arrives at Globe Way from Dandedong Thunder in Australia's Victoria Premier League. He helped Thunder reach the Grande Final where they lost on penalties, also picking-up the supporters' player of the season award during his time Down Under. Quirk, who has also played for Runcorn Linnets, was formerly at Gap Queens Park and helped the ex-Alliance outfit to two cup finals and the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup, when it was rumoured he was a target for then Lillies' boss John Hulse after an outstanding performance in defeat at Belle Vue.
