CYMRU Alliance leaders Flint Town United were held to a 3-3 draw at bottom club Gresford Athletic in a game which produced four goals in the last four minutes. The scores were level thanks to first-half goals from Athletic's Joe Garner and Flint's John Hill until the 87th-minute Shaun Beck put the Silkmen in front. Graham Sutcliffe levelled within a minute only for Simon Thelwell to score again for United, before Sutcliffe snatched a point in stoppage time with a deflected free-kick. Second-placed Llangefni Town thumped Llangollen 8-0 at Talwrn Road, with the goals coming from six different players - Danny Glyn Roberts, Graham Austin, Chris Williams, Lee Craven, Kevin Lloyd, Darren Thomas - before Darren Gowans scored a late brace in the 89th and 90th-minutes. Third-placed Llandudno took the spoils in a nine-goal thriller at Bethesda after leading 5-0 through Danny Hughes, James McIlvogue, Gareth Evans and a Luke Carding brace, all within the first 34 minutes. But Athletic hit back through Craig Roberts, Matthew Hughes, Jamie Whitmore and Gareth Davies to set-up a tense finale. Photo: Action from Gresford's draw with Flint [Nic Johnston]. |
