Dixon delight at Cefni's title win
Friday 30 April 2010
Lee DixonAT the end of their first season in charge Llangefni Town’s management team of Lee Dixon and Ian Hughes can celebrate the perfect reward - the Cymru Alliance League championship.
Cefni had already secured promotion the previous weekend but Saturday’s hard fought 2-0 win over Penrhyncoch provided the icing on the cake for the Anglesey club.
A place in next season’s Welsh Premier Super 12 now beckons, provided Town gain the crucial domestic licence on appeal to the FAW.
"We’re over the moon that we’ve won the league with a game to go," a delighted Dixon (pictured) told the Bangor & Anglesey Mail.
"Four or five weeks ago we feared we may have been dead and buried after losing at Flint, but we’re so proud of the boys for what they’ve achieved.
"It’s a great credit to the players that we will be the first team from the island to compete in the Super 12 if our appeal to get the domestic licence is successful.
"We’re just hoping the FAW get us in there now as it’s what the club deserves; the committee has put in a tremendous amount of hard work over the past 12 months."
