Alliance benefits from Premier shakeout
Monday 17 May 2010
WITH no club relegated from the Welsh Premier to the Welsh League, the Cymru Alliance is the main 'beneficiary' of the shakeout following the reduction of the top flight to 12 clubs next season.
Caersws, Elements Cefn Druids, Connah's Quay, Porthmadog, Rhyl and Welshpool drop down into the second tier, which is also being reduced in size from 18 to 16 members.
Retaining their places are Buckley Town, Flint Town United, Guilsfield, Llandudno, champions Llangefni Town - who failed in their licence bid - Penrhyncoch and Ruthin Town, while Rhayader Town, Rhos Aelwyd and Rhydymwyn are all promoted from lower down the pyramid.
