HOLYHEAD Hotspur have reappointed Mark Williams as manager and Emlyn Manley Williams as his assistant for the 2010/11 season. The Harbourmen had advertised the posts and report they received some high quality applicants, but have decided to stick with the pair who led them to a top eight finish in the Cymru Alliance and a famous Welsh Cup win over Newtown last season. Because of Rhyl’s surprise relegation from the Welsh Premier, Hotspur now face dropping into the Welsh Alliance with the estimated safety valve of eighth spot now proving insufficient to remain in the second tier. The only lifeline for the Harbourmen could be a revolt led by Bethesda Athletic against accepting six relegated clubs into the Cymru Alliance at next month’s AGM. "We will watch the developments with interest," Hotspur media officer Gareth Davies told the Bangor Mail. "It seems unfair that despite finishing eighth in a 17-club league we are facing relegation." |
