JOHN Leah has committed to Rhyl for another season and signed an 18-month contract at Belle Vue.After talks between manager Greg Strong, managing director Jamie Digwood and the player, last seasons players' and manager's player of the season has penned a new deal. Leah joined the Lilywhites a year ago following his release by The New Saints and has now scored 36 goals from 270 (+35) Welsh Premier appearances. A product of the Llansantffraid youth set-up who made his first-team debut in August 1996, Leah moved on to Darlington, for whom he made seven Football League appearances, and then Newtown, before rejoining the Saints in November 2001 where he was club captain in the 2004/5 double winning season. Named in the Welsh Premier dream team for 2007/8 and 2008/9, he was surprisingly released by TNS in April 2009 . Rhyl say: "More signings are imminent and further statements will be made in the next few days." |
