| Rhyl swoop for Silkman Jones |
| Thursday 03 June 2010 |
RHYL have signed full-back Lee T Jones from Flint Town United and also confirmed that centre-back Russell Courtney has agreed to stay at Belle Vue.Released by Wrexham in 2008, Jones trained with The New Saints in pre-season but joined Cefn Druids, where he made 46 Welsh Premier appearances and skippered the side. He left in January 2010 following the budget cuts at Plas Kynaston Lane and signed for the Silkmen. Courtney was formerly with Salford City, but appeared only three times, twice from the bench, after joining the Lilywhites in January. "Russell will get a full pre-season under his belt and I expect him to push on and play a big part for us," says Rhyl player-boss Greg Strong. Both Jones and Russell will also have roles within Rhyl's Football in the Community scheme. Photo: Lee Jones in action for Cefn Druids. |
