EXPERIENCED midfielder Gareth Williams has followed manager Huw Griffiths from Welshpool to join Elements Cefn Druids.The 28-year-old (pictured) joined Bangor City in July 2002 after a season with Wrexham, having played for Cymru Alliance Gresford Athletic before joining the Dragons. He scored with his first touch in the Welsh Premier at Port Talbot in November 2002, but left Farrar Road at the end of 2003/4 to study and coach in the USA, rejoining the club over Christmas 2004. He returned to the domestic league with Welshpool from Gresford Athletic last summer and has scored six top flight goals from 59 (+16) appearances. Two other players are also making the switch from Maesydre to Plas Kynaston Lane. Wrexham-born winger Joe Price is returning after a season away after coming through the Druids Academy and also playing for Acrefair Youth, while defender was also formerly with Gresford before making 25 appearances for Welshpool in his debut season. New manager Griffiths has already signed three of his former charges at Welshpool - George Hughes, Marc Griffiths and keeper Dave Maguire. |
