Parry docks as Morgan leaves Port
Tuesday 08 June 2010
GARETH Parry has been appointed manager of Porthmadog after Tomi Morgan's surprise decision to quit and rejoin Carmarthen.
Gareth Parry Morgan, who was manager of the Old Gold between November 1998 and September 2003, has returned to Richmond Park to replace Town boss Deryn Brace.
He had been at The Traeth since February 2009, a day after Paul Whelan was sacked after nine months in charge.
"Though the decision naturally comes as a disappointment, Tomi leaves the club on the most amicable terms," says Port chairman Phil Jones.
Replacement Parry (pictured) is currently preparing for his UEFA 'A' Licence which he will complete in 12 months time.
The midfielder, who is currently working in Minneapolis, says: "I will be running up a large mobile bill getting in touch with the lads from there!" and hopes to resume his playing career when he recovers from an ankle injury.
The 29-year-old has scored 22 goals from 156 (+20) Welsh Premier appearances for Porthmadog and Bangor City since arriving in the domestic league from Llangefni Town.
