| Barton keen to keep striker in the frame |
| Friday 02 July 2010 |
GUILSFIELD boss Mike Barton is determined to hold on to striker Ross Frame, who is the subject of interest from Welsh Premier clubs Aberystwyth Town and Newtown, amongst others. The Welsh schoolboy international has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Mid Wales football, but Barton (pictured) says he will fight tooth and nail to keep the prolific 18-year-old frontman, who netted 20 goals in his debut season in the Cymru Alliance. Barton believes the Caereinion High School student wants to stay at the Community Centre Ground and hopes he will lead the line for the Guils next season. Barton also hit out at online stories, which he says are unsettling his prize hitman. Barton fumed: "I read the Welsh Premier’s unofficial website, which ran a completely incorrect story about Ross having already signed a deal with a Welsh Premier club for next season. "That is a complete load of rubbish and I have since spoken to Ross, who told me he wants to stay at Guilsfield." |
