| Shannon returns to the Druids |
| Monday 05 July 2010 |
ADEN Shannon has returned to Cefn Druids after an absence of five years to boost the club's bid to return to the Welsh Premier.Shannon still holds the record for most goals in a season for the Ancients with 19 in 2003/4 and is the only player to have scored four goals in one game for the club, against Welshpool. After joining the Ancients from Blacon Youth, Shannon scored on his debut at Oswestry. But he had an uneasy relationship with then manager Steve O'Shaughnessy and moved to Welshpool for season 2004/5, where he maintained a high strike rate for three seasons before joining O'Shaughnessy again at Gap Connah's Quay. He then linked up with his former manager Tomi Morgan at Porthmadog last season and has a Welsh Premier career total of 64 goals from 118 (+51) appearances. Another new arrival at Druids is midfielder Ashley Wilson from Llangollen Town, who has also played in the Cymru Alliance with Bala Town and Queen's Park. |
