AFTER spending last season at Porthmadog, left-back John Keegan has signed for Rhyl and is expected to make his debut in a friendly against Kidsgrove on Saturday. The 29-year-old (pictured) played one game for Chester City in the Cheshire Senior Cup, after starting his career with York City where he made three appearances in 1999/2000. Keegan then moved to Scarborough and Hucknall Town and has also played for Holywell, Caernarfon Town and Colwyn Bay as well as coaching in the USA. After four season with Welshpool he moved from Maesydre to join his former manager Tomi Morgan at Porthmadog in June 2009 and has made a total of 136 (+2) Welsh Premier appearances. Meanwhile, the Lilywhites are casting their net down under in a search for players and three Australians are set to figure in pre-season. They are goalkeeper Anthony Costa and midfielders Nick Ruoco and Pasquale Polistina and, if their trials at Rhyl do not work out, they will move on to try their luck in Italy. |
