A GOAL from Pasquale Polistina gave Rhyl a 1-0 win at Belle Vue over an Altrincham side that included only three of the Blue Square Premier outfit's regular squad. The Australian trialist scored after neat work from experienced Welsh Premier marksman John Toner, who is also on trial with the Lilywhites. Polistina was replaced at half time by fellow countryman Nicolas Le Ruoco who also put in an exciting performance while former Rhyl and Caersws centre back Matthew Holt played the full match for the visitors. A third trialist from Down Under, goalkeeper Anthony Costa, also played for the hosts.
