RHYL player-manager Greg Strong faces a race against time to be fit for the Lillies' opener in the Huws Gray Alliance.Although nursing a strain, the defender (pictured) has not ruled himself out of Saturday's home clash with last season's Welsh Premier adversaries Caersws. "I'm desperate to be involved as are all of our lads, but it's touch and go so first I'll have a late fitness test," says Strong, who has added Australian trio Nicolas Le Rouco, Pasquale Polistina and goalkeeper Anthony Costa to his squad. Another relgated outfit, Cefn Druids, have just three of last season's Welsh Premier roster as they face a tricky opening game away to Porthmadog. Llandudno have been dealt an eve-of-season blow with the news that skipper Craig Hogg will be sidelined with a groin muscle injury for six weeks. Ex-Airbus trio James McIntosh, Gareth Caughter and Gary McConnell make their debuts for Buckley Town, while Flint Town are away at new boys Rhos Aelwyd. |
