COLWYN Bay have signed 23-year-old midfielder Gareth Evans from Llandudno. Evans, who is highly-rated by the Huws Gray Alliance side, is seen as the box-to-box type midfielder that Bay have been trying to add to the squad. "We are delighted to have acquired the services of Gareth," says Bay boss Dave Challinor. "We have watched his performances this season at Llandudno and we've been very impressed with what we've seen. "I'd like to thank the staff, especially Grant Montgomerie and officials at Llandudno for allowing us to speak to Gareth. "It is obviously difficult when other teams come looking at your better players but they have been thoroughly professional in their approach and realise this is an opportunity for Gareth to step up and hopefully prove to everyone that he is more than capable of performing at this level. "As a player, Gaz provides us with something a bit different from what we already have in midfield and I'm sure he'll show this in his performances. "He has great energy, a willingness to go beyond the striker and an eye for a goal. "He is young, fit and ambitious and hopefully we can provide him with a platform to improve and mature into an excellent footballer," Challinor added. |
