 CAERSWS have signed midfielder Gareth Watkins, who is making a return to senior football after a two year lay-off.The 27-year-old Knighton-based midfielder was a highly rated member of Newtown’s youth academy, and he spent four seasons around the fringes of the Robins' first-team between 2001 and 2004 before joining UWIC only for a serious knee injury to blight his career. A member of the Welsh Universities squad, he has also played for Aberystwyth Town and Welshpool Town, making 19 (+19) Welsh Premier appearances, as well as his home town club Knighton. |
