HOLYHEAD Hotspur sprang a shock in the Welsh Cup second round beating Huws Gray Alliance rivals Llangenfi Town 1-0, former Bangor City midfielder Mel McGuiness scoring the game's only goal on 55 minutes.![]() Flint Town United were also dumped by lower league opposition, falling 3-4 at home to Mid Wales Leaguers Llanidloes Town, while Buckley Town also fell, 6-4 on penalties at Gwalchmai. Alliance high-flyers Rhos Aelwyn needed extra time to see off the challenge of near neighbours Coedpoeth United, 2-1, Ricky Wright and Steve Powell scoring in the added 30 minutes. Gap Connah's Quay cruised into the third round 6-1 at the expense of Bethesda, with Mike Hayes notching a hat-trick. Mark Griffiths grabbed a brace as Cefn Druids hammered minnows Trearddur Bay 7-0, while Caersws also won away, 3-1 at Nefyn United, with Graham Evans among their scorers.
