| Loggs released from contract at Llangefni |
| Thursday 07 October 2010 |
AN ongoing saga at Llangefni has been brought to an end with the news that Marc Evans has put in a written request to be released from his contract."The club has clearly stated in the past that it would never force a player to see out his contract and despite our reluctance to lose a player of his undoubted ability, we would never stand in the way of a player's need to move on," says a statement from Talwrn Road. "A contract is usually used as a means of building a secure squad and discouraging enticements from other clubs from approaching a player without some recourse to financial recompense. "In line with Marc's request the club have formally agreed to the termination of his contract by mutual consent and he is now a free agent." Known as 'Loggs', Evans was a prolific scorer with Holyhead Hotspur who made the move to Anglesey rivals 'Cefni in the summer of 2009, but was swiftly loaned to Porthmadog for the season 'to take him out of the cauldron of island football and help him to develop his game'. He spent six months at the Traeth before returning to his parent club in January. |
