| Barton quits to take Welshpool helm |
| Saturday 09 October 2010 |
MIKE Barton has quit as manager of Guilsfield to take the helm at Huws Gray Alliance neighbours Technogroup Welshpool.Barton takes over from another ex-Guils' boss, Graham Evans, who left Maesydre earlier in the week, and faces a huge task to revive the fortunes of the mid-Wales outfit who were relegated from the Welsh Premier at the end of last season. Currenly bottom of the table, the Lilywhites also face a 15-points deduction for fielding five ineligible players this season. Barton, who made 279 top flight appearances as a goalkeeper for Newtown, TNS, Rhayader, Oswestry and Welshpool, has also managed at Caersws. |
