Druids hope Obasi can unlock the Quay
Friday 22 October 2010
Tom ObasiCEFN Druids and Gap Connah's Quay go head-to-head on Friday night in the match of the season so far in the Huws Gray Alliance.
A healthy crowd is expected at The Rock to see the second-placed Ancients take on the Nomads, who head the table after seven wins from seven.
Home boss Huw Griffiths hopes that new signing Tom Obasi (pictured) can unlock the visitors' defence, which has conceded just six times so far.
Obasi, who made his debut as a substitute in the 4-1 win at Welshpool, is "technically a football genius" according to Griffiths.
"He is totally different to anything in this league, he is big and full of pace. He did pre-season with us and was a standout performer against Wrexham, he playes Futsal for England and Leigh Genesis signed him.
"Things haven't worked out there for him so he has come back to us and I am delighted, he can prove the difference against the likes of Connah's Quay and Rhyl."
Ex-Bala midfielder Warren Duckett misses out through suspension, while the Nomads are at full strength under player-boss Mark McGregor.
