GAP Connah's Quay moved within a point of leaders Cefn Druids, who were in League Cup action, with a 5-1 hammering of Llangefni Town at Talwrn Road. It was a baptism of fire for Cefni's new management duo of Gus Williams and Alan Bickerstaff as Mike Hayes grabbed four goals for the Nomads. with player-boss Mark McGregor adding the other. Third placed Rhyl were forced to settle for a point against Flint Town United at Cae-y-Castell, where Shaun Beck scored for the Silkmen two minutes after the break to neutralise a Mark Cadwallader goal for the Lillies. Rhos Aelwyd went one better than last week's five against Penrhyncoch by hitting six at Rhydymwym, Mike Burke scoring a hat-trick and Tom McElmeel getting a consolation for the hosts. New manager Chris Herbert took charge of Technogroup Welshpool for the first time and stopped the rot with a goal-less draw away at Ruthin Town. |
