 FORMER Welsh Premier striker Chris Melia has become the fourteenth signing for Welshpool manager Chris Herbert since his appoinment five weeks ago.The 29-year-old joined Connah's Quay in 2007 and scored three goals from 13 (+11) top flight appearances and reappeared in the Welsh Premier with Caersws in 2008/9 after a spell at Winsford United. He scored nine times in 48 (+5) appearances for the mid-Wales Bluebirds before joining Cefn Druids. "Chris is an experienced striker, he holds the ball up well, is decent in the air and scores his fair share of goals," says Herbert. "I'm fully aware of what Chris can do as he was my strike partner at GAP Connah's Quay four years ago. "He will score goals for us and I'm hoping he will hit the ground running, last season he finnished top scorer for Caersws in the Welsh Premier." |
