TREGARON Turfs' players and supporters were left disappointed after Technogroup Welshpool chose not to fulfil their Central Wales Challenge Cup tie last weekend. Tregaron manager Dilwyn Daniel had hailed the tie as one of the biggest in the club's history, but was left disappointed by the decision. The former Welsh Premier League club issued a statement claiming that they wanted to avoid future fixture congestion by dropping out of the senior Central Wales competition, as well as the costs involved in a cup run. Welshpool, who have already had 18 points deduced in the Huws Gray Alliance for fielding an ineligible player as well as canceling a fixture, also now face a fine from the Central Wales Football Association. |
