| More cash problems at Belle Vue |
| Wednesday 26 January 2011 |
RHYL are holding an open meeting this week to update fans on the club's financial status and domestic licence application amidst rumours of further cash woes at Belle Vue.The meeting is a response to postings on forums which claim the club has a substantial outstanding tax debt. The Lilywhites were relegated from the Welsh Premier last season after failing to achieve the FAW domestic licence and fears of further difficulties have been fuelled by the release of captain John Leah, who signed for Airbus UK Broughton yesterday, and talk of further player departures. Club chairman Paul Higginson, managing director Jamie Digwood and members of the club's volunteer committee will attend the meeting to provide an update on the club's bid for a return to the top flight. A statement on the Rhyl website says Higginson is keen to help fans to understand the club's current situation. Details on the daily operations, financial position and a pending tax review are expected to be available at the meeting, which takes place in the upstairs bar at Caskeys Bar on Vale Road, Rhyl this Thursday, January 27, from 8pm. |
