PORTHMADOG shocked Huws Gray Alliance leaders Gap Connah's Quay, who slumped to only their second defeat of the season at the fortress Deeside Stadium.Former Welsh Premier frontman Paul Roberts (pictured) was Port's hero, notching a brace either side of a Dean Thurston effort, and Nomads ended the game with 10-men following the late dismissal of defender Andy Alston. Second-placed Rhyl closed the gap to five points by winning 4-1 at Rhydymwyn with a brace from skipper Chris Williams followed by goals from Mike Pritchard and the evergreen John Toner. But fourth-placed Llandudno suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at Welshpool, who notched only their third win of the campaign thanks to Nathan Mapletoft and two stoppage time goals from Jack Pritchard and Lee McElmeel. Flint went nap at home to Caersws, winning 5-1 with a brace from ex-Airbus striker Jack Abrahams, a Graham Evans spot kick the only consolation for the Bluebirds. Llangefni made the long haul to the Wierglodd worthwhile, beating struggling Rhayader 4-0. Lee Craven, Mike Robinson, Marc Evans and Darren Thomas scored for the Anglesey men. |
