WITH Gap Connah's Quay on Welsh Cup duty, Rhyl seized their chance to take over at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance with a resounding 6-1 at Welshpool's Maesydre.Mike Pritchard and Andy Pearson both scored twice, with the other goals coming from Scott Beckett and John Toner. Cefn Druids remain hot on the heels of the leaders with a 3-0 win away to Guilsfield, Adam Hesp and Luke Powell scoring in a three-minute first half spell, before Andrew Swarbrick sealed the points in the second half. Flint won a seven goal thriller at Cae-y-Castell, after trailing to two Darren Thomas goals for Llangefni Town. Simon Thelwell started the Silkmen's comeback before Danny Sullivan levelled and, despite a third Cefni goal for Lee Craven, a late brace from Shaun Beck stole the points. Llandudno beat Caersws 3-0, Iwan Williams notching a brace, while Rhos Aelwyd won 5-2 at Rhayader. Rhydymwyn were 4-2 home victors over Penrhyncoch, Dave Bryan and Robbie Chesters scoring the winning goals. But there was woe for Porthmadog, who slumped 4-2 at home to Buckley Town, Wes Brereton and Neil Wynne grabbing a brace apiece.
