| Calvin Davies returns to boost Pool fight |
| Friday 18 March 2011 |
WELL-travelled striker Calvin Davies has made a surprise return to Welshpool after starting the season on the books of Carmarthen Town. The 27-year-old made just five Welsh Premier sub appearances in Old Gold to bring his career total to 111 (+19), which have yielded 54 goals. "I'm delighted that Calvin has agreed to join us as we've been lacking a natural goal scorer," says Pool boss Chris Herbert, whose side need to beat Rhydymwyn to avoid relegation. Davies started his Welsh Premier career at Cefn Druids, before spending a successful season at Caernarfon. He followed manager Adie Jones to Unibond League Colwyn Bay, returning to the domestic league with Welshpool in June 2005. After signing for Connah's Quay and scoring on his debut against TNS, he returned to Welshpool a month later and has since taken in spells with Colwyn, Warrington Town and Corwen.
