| Druids' promotion bid slowed by Silkmen |
| Tuesday 22 March 2011 |
CEFN Druids surrendered two crucial points in their bid for promotion from the Huws Gray Alliance as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Flint Town United.Chances were at a premium in a scrappy affair at The Rock, with Druids' Tom Obasi firing over from a good position and Shaun Beck just wide for the Silkmen before the break. The Ancients took the lead early in the second half when a Matty Hurdman free-kick eluded defenders and attackers to go straight in at the far post. But the visitors hit back with a flowing move involving Simon Hulse and Stuart Hughes, whose cross was fired home by Beck. Hughes also had a good effort saved by home keeper Chris Mullock but the game ended deadlocked to leave Druids in third place, five points adrift of Gap Connah's Quay, but with one game in hand.
