HUWS Gray Alliance leaders Rhyl went down to only their second defeat of the season on Tuesday night, losing 2-1 in the derby at Llandudno. The fourth-placed hosts boosted their slim hopes of promotion with a Ryan Williams penalty and a winner from Danny Hughes, after Andrew Pearson had given the Lilywhites a 22nd-minute lead. But Cefn Druids failed to take advantage of Rhyl's slip, going down 2-1 at Buckley Town's Globe Way. Andrew Swarbrick fired the Ancients ahead, but Neil Wynne levelled before Gareth Edwards snatched an 89th-minute winner. Graham Evans, an Elwyn Edwards own goal and Gareth Sudlow handed Caersws a 3-0 home win over Penrhyncoch, all the goals arriving before half-time. Porthmadog went down 1-0 at The Traeth to Ruthin, for whom Kevin Garland was on target. |
