FORMER Cefn Druids' stalwart Aled Rowlands has been appointed the new manager of Huws Gray Alliance outfit Rhos Aelwyd. The 39-year-old will take over at the end of the campaign when incumbent Steve Walters steps down voluntarily from the position. Rowlands, who started his career with Aelwyd, was th longest serving player at Cefn Druids, making 300 Welsh Premier appearances after signing from his local clubin 1993. After a brief spell in the top flight with Holywell, he also played for Wales Under-18s against Scotland, Switzerland, Northern Ireland and Austria during his long career, which saw him return to Rhos in a playing and coaching role last March. The club has enjoyed a highly successful season since returning to the second tier last summer and currently lie in fifth place. |
