GAP Connah's Quay were crowned Huws Gray Alliance champions despite being held to a goal-less draw at the Deeside Stadium by third-placed Cefn Druids. Rivals Rhyl went down to another defeat, this time 2-1 at home to Flint Town United. Chris Williams got the Lilywhites off to a flyer by converting a first-minute penalty, but Jason Renshaw equalised before the break and Shaun Beck grabbed the winner in the last minute. Fourth-placed Rhos Aelwyd crashed to a 5-2 home defeat at the hands of Porthmadog, Paul Roberts scoring a hat-trick for the visitors. Llandudno were held 1-1 at Rhydymwym for whom Mark Pyatt scored a late equaliser, while Buckley overcame Rhayader 2-0 at Globe Way with goals from Terry Pughe and Wes Brererton. Welshpool reached the two points mark with a 2-2 home draw against Caersws, who levelled with a last-minute penalty from Graham Evans. Guilsfield lost 1-0 at home to Penrhyncoch for whom Tony Jones scored after 32 minutes, with Adie Jones's Ruthin 3-0 home winners over his former club Llangefni, Kevin Garland scoring a brace. |
