CHAMPIONS Gap Connah's Quay and striker Gary O'Toole picked-up where they left-off at the end of the last season.Nomads surged to a 6-1 win at the Caersws Recreation Ground with 2010/11 league player of the season O'Toole grabbing a second-half hat-trick. Penrhyncoch also scored six away at newly-promoted Penycae with Josh Shaw and former Aberystwyth frontman Glyndwr Hughes both netting a brace. Porthmadog also had a hat-trick hero in Jamie McDaid who netted his goals in a 5-1 win at Llangefni Town. Two first half goals from Jason Oswell and Russell Courtney sealed a home win for Rhyl against Guilsfield while newcomers Conwy United were celebrating after an opening day win at Rhos Aelwyd, 2-1, Arron Jones scoring the winner. Veteran Tommy Mutton gave Ruthin Town the lead at Llandudno, but Lee Thomas scored an equaliser. On Friday night, Cefn Druids went nap against new boys Llanrhaeadr, with new signing Paul Speed notching three, while Flint Town United and Buckley drew 1-1 at Cae-y-Castell.
