RHYL and Buckley Town continue to set the pace at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance.The free-scoring Lilywhites thumped Conwy United 6-0 at Belle Vue on Friday night with Jason Oswell and Russell Courtney grabbing two apiece. On Saturday, the Stags ended Porthmadog's unbeaten league record, winning 1-0 at Globe Way thanks to an Anthony Williams goal and despite having Gareth Edwards dismissed before half-time and losing Jordon Freeman to a serious arm injury. Gap Connah's Quay remain well in content after also hitting six against Ruthin Town, Danny Forde scoring a brace alongside goals from Rob Jones, player/boss Mark McGregor, Sam McNutt and James McIntosh. Cefn Druids moved above hosts Flint Town United on Friday night with a 2-1 win at Cae-y-Castell, Matty Hurdman and Adam Hesp responding after Simon Thelwell, who was later sent-off, had given the Silkmen a 12th-minute lead. Llangefni remain rooted to the bottom after crashing 5-2 at Llandudno, Lee Jones (pictured) claiming four of the goals, while Rhos Aelwyd are also down in the basement after losing the local derby at Penycae 2-1. Guilsfield languish third from bottom after losing 3-1 at home to Penrhyncoch, while Caersws beat Llanrhaeadr 3-1 in the day's other game. |
