WITH leaders Connah's Quay out of action, Rhyl returned to the top of the pile after a closely-fought 2-1 home win over fourth-placed Buckley Town at Belle Vue.But it was formed Lilywhites' ace Andy Moran who opened the scoring against his old club on 16 minutes, and the Lilywhites had to wait until the last 10 minutes for goals from Ryan Williams and Russ Courtney to secure the points. Porthmadog remain third, just two points behind the leaders, after winning 2-1 at 10-man Llandudno, who had Joe Morgan sent-off in the first half. Port's goals came courtesy of Rhys Roberts and Gareth Jones-Evans, with Kevin Fields responding for the hosts, but the visitors then had defender Ryan Davies also dismissed. Cefn Druids are still hanging on to their promotion hopes after winning the local derby at bottom club Rhos Aelwyd 2-0 thanks to Warren Duckett's 15th-minute goal and a second from Andrew Swarbrick. Caersws and Penrhyncoch, locked together on sixth and seventh place, shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Recreation Ground, Neil Mitchell opening the scoring for the Bluebirds and Josh Shaw levelling on 63 minutes after the hosts had Grant Butler red-carded. Conwy United's rein under new manager Mick McGraa started with a 3-1 win at Llangefni, Dean Canning notching a brace, while Penycae and Ruthin drew 1-1.
