DESPITE missing several key players through injuries and suspensions, Bala Town maintained their bid for promotion to the Welsh Premier with a slender home success against third-placed Llandudno, who had Darren Jones red-carded in the first half.Warren Duckett headed the only goal of the game from a Huw Fisher free-kick after 55 minutes at Maes Tegid to keep the hosts seven points ahead of their rivals at the top of the Cymru Alliance. Second-placed Llangefni Town kept pace with the leaders from a 3-0 home win over Buckley Town. On-loan Bangor midfielder Mel McGuiness and Darren Thomas were both on target for the second successive game, with Kevin Roberts adding a third in the 79th-minute at Talwrn Road. Kenleigh Jones hit a brace in Holyhead's 2-1 win at Denbigh to keep the Hotspur in fourth place. Warren Duckett scores Bala's winner [Arwel Jones]. |
