BALA Town inched closer to the Welsh Premier with a point from a goal-less draw away to lowly Gresford at Clappers Lane. Still smarting from last week's thrashing at the hands of Llangefni, the hosts put up a battling performance against the Cymru Alliance leaders, who failed to take their chances. The Lakesiders now face a potential title decider at home to main rivals Holyhead Hotspur next Saturday. The Anglesey outfit, who won 4-0 at Buckley Town with goals from Mark Evans, Tom Jones, Dean Garmey and Mark Williams, are nine points behind Bala with two games in hand.
