IN a dress rehearsal for Tuesday night's North East Wales Challenge Cup final at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground, Lex XI beat Mynydd Isa 3-1 in one of the last Cymru Alliance games of the season. Early goals from Andy Harrison and Mike Love put the Lawmen in control, with Harrison adding his second on 55 minutes. Alan Dawson snatched a 63rd-minute consolation for the fourth-placed visitors, who had Llya Haycock sent off following a reckless challenge. Penrhyncoch went down 2-0 at home to league runners-up Holyhead Hotspur thanks to a brace from Ian Williams on 41 and 59 minutes. The Roosters, who have narrowly avoided relegation, are involved in the final match of the season next Saturday away to Llanfairpwll. Champions Bala Town play Hotspur on the same day in the League Cup final at Llandudno's Maesdu Park. |
