| Thursday 14 May 2009 |
BUCKLEY Town have appointed Gareth Thomas as their new manager following Steve Sedgewick's decision to stand down at the end of the season.Thomas arrives from local Cymru Alliance rivals Mynydd Isa, where his final game in charge was Tuesday night's penalty shoot-out defeat to Lex XI in the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup. He has enjoyed steady progress at Isa over the last few seasons culminating in a top-four finish after player-managing at Halkyn United and Llandudno and also playing for Holywell Town, Flint and Connah's Quay. Thomas will be joined at Globe Way by first-team coach Keith Davies. Chairman Stewart Roberts says: "Gareth's remit will be to gather momentum to get the club to a platform ready for promotion after the restructuring of the Welsh pyramid system." |
