PORT Talbot will be the visitors when Welsh Leaguers Bridgend Town play the first-ever football match at the Brewery Field. The Exiles are now part owners of the stadium lease along with along with Bridgend Ravens RFC, after purchasing the lease from Leighton Samuel, main backed of the Celtic Crusaders Rugby League team who also play at the famous ground. Bridgend received £2 million for the sale of their former Coychurch Road home which was vacated in 2006 to make way for a new supermarket and have since played at Porthcawl and the University of Glamorgan's Tyn-y-Wern playing fields. The Steelmen will visit on Tuesday July 14. |
