| Saturday 15 August 2009 |
BOTH the main feeder leagues kicked-off on Friday night, with Bridgend Town underlining their Welsh League title ambitions with a 3-1 win at Afan Lido. Raith Plant's penalty opened the visitors' account after 35 minutes, with Anthony Waters and Pakistan international Atif Bashir (pictured) putting the Exiles three goals to the good before a late consolation from Craig Baker for the hosts. Ruthin Town cheered manager Adie Jones with a 3-0 win at Gresford Athletic in the Cymru Alliance. Mike Robinson opened the scoring with a "Beckhamesque" chip from the halfway line, with Mike Garrod adding the second and new signing Dan Graham notching the third on his debut. |
