| Barry reject Morgan's buyout bid |
| Saturday 29 August 2009 |
A FORMAL offer has been made to buy Barry Town, thought to be at the asking price of £195,000, but owner Stuart Lovering has turned it down, according to the South Wales Echo. Former ENTO Aberaman Athletic sponsor and manager Dai Morgan (pictured) made the offer to buy the seven-times Welsh Premier champions, although the deal meant payments would be spread over a number of years. Morgan is one of two Welsh businessmen interested in buying Barry Town and the club remains up for sale. There could well be developments over the next couple of weeks. Morgan was involved with Aberaman for several years, but quit when the Welsh League champions were denied entry to the Welsh Premier League in May after failing to meet the deadline for a ground inspection. |
