GOYTRE United remained top of Welsh League Division One on goal difference with a narrow success, former Dinas Powys player Jacob Daly scoring the only goal of the game against his former club at Glenhafod Park.Aberaman Athletic kept up the pressure on their rivals by winning 3-1 at Ton Pentre with John Phillips (pictured) netting a brace. Afan Lido stay in third place following their comfortable 4-0 home win over Ely Rangers. Mark Jones scored twice, including one from the penalty spot, with Carl Evans and Jon Hood also on the scoresheet. Cambrian & Clydach are in good form ahead of their Welsh Cup meeting with The New Saints and moved into fourth place on the same points total as opponents Garden Village with a 4-2 win. Bryntirion Athletic also share 16 points after winning 2-0 at home to Caerleon. |
