GOYTRE United took full advantage of a slip by title rivals Aberaman Athletic to establish an 11-point lead at the top of Welsh League Division One.The Goyts won 3-1 at third-placed Caldicot Town with Chris Summers opening the visitors' account on 25 minutes. Caldicot levelled with a penalty before half-time, but goals from Richard Ryan and Summers claimed the points. Jon Phillips gave Aberaman a 23rd-minute lead, but rued missing several good chances as visitors Dinas Powys scored twice after the break. Central defender Lloyd Davies levelled with a header from a Jacob Rudman corner and Linford Harris grabbed the winner 10 minutes from time. In the only other game to survive, Taffs Well leap-frogged opponents Garden Village with a 2-1 win. |
